The Pandaren are unique. They are the only race in World of Warcraft that starts out belonging to neither faction. At some point, though, you are going to have to make a decision. Will your Pandaren join the Alliance, or will your Pandaren be “For the Horde!” instead? Not sure yet? Here is some advice to help you as you make that life changing decision for your Pandaren.
Go With What You Know
Are all of your characters part of the same faction? Whether it is Horde or Alliance, there must be something special for you about belonging to that particular faction. Stick with what works. Your Pandaren can happily join up with the rest of your characters and become part of your favorite faction. One advantage of this choice is that it will make it easy to transfer “stuff” from your existing characters to your brand new Pandaran.
Satisfy Your Curiosity
This is a great opportunity to check out what it is like to play as the faction that you have never been a part of before. There is an old saying: “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence”. In WoW, this can be attributed to the battlegrounds. How often have you heard that your faction “sucks” on this server, and that the other side always wins? Now is your chance to find out if that perception is true. Making your Pandaren part of your non-preferred faction is a good way to experience WoW from a completely new perspective!
Give in to Peer Pressure
Your buddies in WoW, that you play with all the time, are rolling Pandaren. Great! They have decided that it would be awesome to have their Pandas join one faction, (but not the other one). If the best part of WoW for you is sharing it with your friends, or family members, then you are going to want to follow them into whatever faction their Pandaren are going to join. This is a good way to decide which way to go for people who are happily bi-factional, and who do not feel a strong loyalty to either the Alliance or the Horde.
Go Both Ways
What if you are a player who has high level characters in both the Horde and the Alliance? How can you choose one side over the other when you love both? The answer lies in a lyric from a song called “Freewill” by Rush. It goes:
“If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”.
Roll two Pandaren. When they grow big enough, one can head off to join the Horde, and the other can amble over to become part of the Alliance. For added fun, make one female and the other male. Experience everything that WoW has to offer your brand new Pandaren!
